Gayatri Puja

Mahakali, Mahalakshmi & Mahasaraswati. This united wisdom manifested as Gaya, which means the Song of Wisdom, and the Tri means the three.

Ga-ya-tri there are three types of misery. We have three bodies, the gross body, the subtle and the causal body. And in all the three levels there is misery. The human life has to cross-over all the three, and that is what Gayatri means. One who sings it, sails over the ocean of misery to go to bliss.

Shri Gayatri Puja is performed with a specific count of chant or jaap of Shri Gayatri Mantra. Shri Gayatri Puja is mainly performed for overall financial prosperity, good character and conduct good knowledge for the native.

Goddess Gayatri is mainly revealed in form Gayatri Mantra. This Gayatri Mantra is the mula mantra or the primary knowledge of Hindu Dharma, or Sanatana Dharma, which is called the Eternal Ideal of Perfection.

Shri Gayatri Puja is mainly started on Tuesday and it is generally completed on following Tuesday where the day to start the Gayatri Puja can sometimes change depending upon the time which is  required by the Pandits doing the puja to complete the chant of Shri Gayatri Mantra.

Generally the Pandit are able to complete this Jaap or chant of Shri Gayatri Mantra in 7 days, that is why the chant starts on Tuesday and end on following Tuesday and all the necessary  steps for this pooja are conducted during this time that is from Tuesday to Tuesday.

The most important step in perfoming any Puja is to perform the chant of a Mantra specified for that Puja and this chant or jaap amounts to a number of 125000 in most of the cases and accordingly a Shri Gayatri Puja should ideally include a chant of 125000 Shri Gayatri Mantra and rest of the procedures are built around this chant.
