Bhagwan Vishnu. Satya means “truth” and Narayan means “The highest being” so Satyanarayan means “The highest being who is embodiment of Truth”.
Satyanarayan Katha is one of the easiest way to seek the blessing of Lord Vishnu, who is the God responsible for maintenance of this Universe.
Lord Vishnu is a Hindu God, the Supreme God of Vaishnavism(one of the three principal denominations of Hinduism) and one of the three supreme dieties(Trimurti) of Hinduism. He is also known as Narayana and Hari. He is the most important God of Vaishnavism, the largest Hindu Sect.
A complex character, Vishnu is the Preserver and guardian of men (Narayana), he protects the order of things (dharma) and, when necessary , he appears on earth in various incarnations or avatars to fight demons and fierce creatures and so many cosmic harmony.
Typically Satyanarayan Puja is to be performed before or after the fulfillment of our desires eg if you want to achieve some important milestone in your life like success in higher education, success in career, promotion, buying a new vehicle, new house, starting new business, negotiating big professional deals etc. Satyanarayan Katha puja is also useful if someone in the family is not well.
The Satyanarayan Katha Puja is considered very holy and hence it is considered very auspicious to get it done at home during special events like child birth , birthdays, marriages, Grih Pravesh or on any happy occasions. People also conduct Puja when they are suffering from illness or even incurring losses or when they intend to fulfill their desires. The puja protects you from conducting evil and teaches us to be on the path of goodness and truth.
One of the the important rituals in Hindu mythodolgy is Satyanarayan Puja. This puja can be performed on any occasion . In Hindu culture it is believed to perform this puja before any new work , marriage , studies or for sickness etc. There is no specific day or vidhi for doing the puja.
