Hanuman Puja is done for seeking blessings of Lord Hanuman. This puja is done on the birthday of Hanuman also called Hanuman Jayanti. Bhagwan Hanuman is a universal God worshipped across continents irrespective of their religion, caste or creed.

 

People worship Lord Hanuman to get blessings and to be free from evil spirits, to overcome complex problems in life such as long-standing problems in life.  

How to worship Lord Hanuman:

The Full moon day of Chaitra month (April) is marked as Hanuman Jayanti.

We worship the birth of Lord Hanuman on this auspicious day. It is celebrated differently in different states. For instance, it is celebrated for forty-one days in Andhra beginning on Chaitra Purnima (April) and concluding on the tenth day in Vaishakha (May). It is known as Hanuman Jayanthi in Tamil Nadu followed during January-December. In Karnataka, it is known as Hanuman Vratam celebrated in January- December.

It is believed that if a person worships Lord Hanuman on Tuesday all of his evil effects destroys. One of the most loved deities of Hindu community, Hanuman, the monkey Lord is a powerful God, the very mention of whom is enough to drive evil forces away. Hanuman, a great devotee of Lord Rama was the son Vayu and is known as the eleventh incarnation of Shiva.

Hanuman is mainly prayed on Hanuman Jayanti, he can also be prayed to any time in a day or in a year but he should definitely be prayed on Tuesday.

  • The idol of Lord Hanuman
  • Red Cloth
  • Tulsi
  • Dhoop Stick
  • Deepak
  • Flowers
  • Sandalwood Paste
  • Yellow Sindoor
  • Incense Stick
  • Jaggery and some roasted chana
  • Besan Ladoo
  • Chandan

How to do Hanuman Pooja ?

  • Take a table and spread a red cloth on the table.
  • Place the idol of Lord Hanuman
  • Purify the space with Gangajal
  • Offer flowers to the picture of Hanuman
  • Light a Deepak in front of Lord Hanuman
  • Then for a minute pray to Lord Ganesha and then start with your Hanuman Puja
  • Offer Tulsi leaves, dhoop sticks, akshat to Lord Hanuman
  • Apply Chandan tilak and yellow sindoor to Lord Hanuman
  • Offer laddoos, jaggery and roasted chana to Lord Hanuman.
  • Recite "Om Ham Hanumate Namah" 108 times. You should also read the Hanuman Chalisa and perform Hanuman Arti.
  • Remember, when you pray to Hanuman, you should pray to Lord Rama too, so at the end of your prayer, light a Deepak in front of Rama’s idol as well.
